Hanlons Win AGWA State Award 2022

The Australian Glass and Window Association held their annual State Design Awards in Sydney on Friday Night. Local company Hanlon Windows had two projects become finalists and are pleased to announce that they won the award for Best Use of Windows and Doors/Glass and Glazing in a Residential project over $80,000. These Awards are highly sought after in the window and door industry and we are extremely proud and honoured to have been recognised by the Australian Glass and Window Association. Accepting the award was Hanlon Windows Managing Director and Owner Chance Hanlon and General Manager Tim Hanlon.

The application for the awards was for a stunning architecturally designed home nestled in the hills of Kiama. This home boasts horizon wide coastal views. This incredible yet challenging site heavily impacted this design and build, with the house’s relationship to the land being an important factor in its creation. From the large-scale structural steel framing to the cantilevered west wing, this house is absolutely a standout project. The windows and doors are no exception. Large commercial grade sliding stacking doors surround this home, opening the indoors up to the incredible surrounds. Sweeping panels of fixed glass combined with louvred windows and Aneeta sash less windows allow the homeowners to capture the stunning coastal breeze and use it to cool the home. We would like to make special mention to the builder of this project Aspire constructions and architects, BHI Architects Wollongong for an incredible design and build. We love working with passionate and skilled professionals such as these and look forward to being involved in many more projects with them in the future.

In current times, building and manufacturing are both tough industries as we continue to compete with overseas imports and multinational companies. Despite these pressures Hanlon Windows continue to make it a priority to use local, Australian suppliers. Sourcing and using Australian made resources is a very important value to Hanlon Windows, as well as creating and keeping jobs local.
