Are you building a new home and are looking to make the most of the coastal breeze or to capture the smell of the Australian bush air? Below we have outlined some of the best windows for ventilation in your home and how to make the most of natural air in effectively cooling the home.
Louvre Window
When you want to capture a cross breeze within your home, louvre windows are number one. They allow for a full opening while also allowing for directional wind. Having these in strategic parts of your home will allow you to create a current of air that will give you that wonderful breeze you’re after.
Sliding Window
The next window that is good for ventilation is the Sliding window. Like the Louvre window, the sliding window allows for a large opening space which means more air will enter the home.
Double Hung Window
This is followed by the Double Hung window which generally gives you two openings, allowing for a good amount of air flow.
Awning/Casement Windows
These are followed by awning and casement windows. Casement windows are good when used to capture breezes when strategically placed in the home. Awning windows allow less airflow into the home but are beneficial for when it’s raining, or an obscure window in a bathroom.
There are many different elements to consider when choosing windows for your new home. Some people will prefer the look of one type of window in comparison to one that may give you better ventilation, and it’s a factor that you need to consider.
